December 2, 2019 - Stiles MS
2:30 p.m. – Stiles MS conducted a lockdown drill today as a precaution after threatening writing was found on a bathroom wall. Students and staff were in no danger.
At approximately 11:15 a.m., the threatening graffiti was reported to our staff and we immediately launched an investigation with law enforcement. Approximately five minutes later, we elected to practice our lockdown procedures out of an abundance of caution. The LISD security director, risk management and local law enforcement personnel partnered to conduct a threat assessment and found no credible threat.
December 2, 2019 - Knowles ES
3 p.m. – A fire alarm and a brief evacuation that occurred today at 1:45 p.m. At no time were any of our students or staff in danger. The fire alarm was triggered when LISD maintenance personnel were working to replace a smoke detector head. The fire department responded promptly and as there was no smoke or fire, gave the all-clear for students and staff to re-enter the building. Teachers and staff team stayed with the students for the duration of the evacuation.
December 2, 2019 - Bagdad ES
3 p.m. – immediately prior to student dismissal, a student had a medical emergency inside the building. Emergency medical personnel arrived to assist the student, who was transported via EMS for evaluation.
